This project is a travel vlog of my trip to Montréal. My objective was to craft an engaging and rewatchable video featuring the best moments from the trip including edits and effects that would elevate the viewers experience.

MTL TAPE

One of the accomplishments that stands out within this project is the engaging introduction. My craftsmanship skills were employed to scan and assemble each asset, which was then animated to elevate each subjects respective introduction. The opening scene seamlessly blends with the high intensity and fast paced rhythm of Ween’s “It’s Gonna Be A Long Night”, setting the stage for a captivating showcase of my distinctive editing and storytelling strategies.

With nearly 4 hours of footage to go through, I initiated on the meticulous task of cutting and choosing which moments I wanted to include in the video. When subtitling and assembling each clip, I prioritized precision, ensuring each piece of footage prevented any abrupt transitions. This processed instilled the invaluable discipline required for working on long form projects, honing my ability to meet deadlines while delivering the best possible results.

The conclusion was crafted to be a scrolling collage, showcasing the photos that were captured on film throughout the trip. Utilizing Photoshop, I created a project file where I arranged these photos, applying drop shadow to give each photo authenticity. Transferring the final composition to Premiere, I keyframed the position, creating a scroll effect that effortlessly guides viewers through each an every picture.

The editing process of this project has taught me more than any other video production has. This project helped me sharpen my skills with programs like Photoshop, Premiere, and After Effects.
